Garden Maintenance

A well-maintained, beautiful garden is a great asset for any home, providing you with a perfect space to unwind, relax and entertain, particularly in the warmer seasons.

The trouble is, whilst you may only use your outdoor areas for just a few months of the year, there are a variety of different tasks that must be completed throughout the year, if you wish to maintain a neat and tidy garden to compliment the appearance of your home.

Even a low maintenance garden that is designed to minimise the time spent on care, will require regular weeding, pruning and trimming to make sure all of the landscaped areas, plants and shrubs remain healthy. Without regular care it is surprising how quickly a garden can begin to look tired, neglected and out of control!

TIME

Caring for and maintaining a garden properly, is a time consuming process that requires commitment and a degree of expertise, but the majority of people have nowhere near enough time to dedicate to the outdoor areas of their home and many of us have anything but green fingers!

Hiring a gardener on a full or part time basis, makes a huge amount of sense if you are short on time or expertise and want to be able to simply enjoy your outdoor space in your free time rather than work in it.

PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE

Professional gardeners possess a vast amount of knowledge and experience. They are able to help you to select plants that are well suited to the soil type and conditions, making sure they will thrive successfully in your garden. Some plants require more complex care than others, but a professional will understand the requirements of each plant and care for it accordingly.

When all of your plants are fertilised, pruned and watered correctly, your garden will look healthy and lush all year round, regardless of the season.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

Sometimes, certain areas of a garden or key plants will struggle due to an issue of some sort. It can be incredibly frustrating when you have invested in attractive plants or lawns, but are unable to keep them looking healthy.

With the benefit of specialised knowledge from your gardener, these sorts of issues can be resolved.

Your gardener will be able to advise you on issues including:

  • Pest control
  • Irrigation systems
  • Correct choice and positioning of plants
  • Landscaping
  • Plant care

This removes the worry and stress of keeping on top of a garden, leaving you with a thriving, healthy space to relax in and enjoy.

CLEAN AND TIDY

Cleaning and tidying may not be the first words that spring to mind when talking about garden maintenance, but there can be a surprising amount of both to take care of when maintaining your outdoor space. For example:

  • Leaf and plant debris – must be removed from lawns, hard surfaces and beds on a regular basis, but especially during the autumn and winter months.
  • Pruning – all of those pruned branches have to go somewhere. Larger gardens will often have a suitable area for composting but otherwise, your gardener will remove all plant waste from your garden and leave it looking amazing!
  • Hard surfaces – patio areas, pathways and decking will need to be cleaned to remove the build up of moss and algae that can build up over time. Tiles, steps and sleepers can become slippery and dangerous when they are not kept clean.

For a great looking outdoor space with zero hassle, you need an experienced, reliable professional. With professional care and attention, your garden will look fantastic, ready for you and your family to enjoy all year round.
