Meat the Natural Way

Pipers Farm Provisions

Pipers Farm supplies award-winning meat from land to sea for Michelin star restaurants and Superyachts all over the world.

Founded in 1989, Pipers Farm is focused on producing meat sustainably and in harmony with nature. Our ethics have been deep-rooted to the core of our business. Driven by the founder, Peter Grieg’s passion for producing wholesome, natural food that has been grown with respect for nature. Pipers Farm today now embraces 25 family farms all helping producing healthy, sustainable food that tastes sensational.

It’s important for our customers to understand from the beginning that Pipers Farm is by no means your ‘average’ meat supplier. It is easy to label ourselves as ‘organic’ and ‘free range’ but as many people are beginning to see, these terms don’t always meet the consumer’s expectation but merely meet the industry standard.

Ruminant animals like cattle and sheep are designed by nature to extract the maximum nutrition from grass. Their complex digestive systems churn and break down grass, plants, and clovers, eking out every drop of goodness. Isn’t Mother Nature a genius? Starchy grains aren’t a natural feature of a ruminant diet and are only given to fast track unnatural development, which can lead to heath implications including digestion irregularities and diabetes.

Animals that live in harmony with their environment are in tune with the ecosystem services and natural cycles.  The sustainable practices at Pipers see that livestock add nutrients to soil, turning it and allowing a rich tapestry of biodiversity to flourish.  The variety in flora and fauna work to provide a nutrient rich and varied diet for livestock.  This diet develops a strong immunity in the livestock and as we consume the meat through the food chain the health benefits pass on along to us.

As you can guess, Pipers Farm are passionate advocates for the Slow Food movement, a grassroots business that is the alternative to fast food, underpinned by ethics and integrity. Slow Food strives to preserve traditional and regional cuisine and encourages farming practices in touch with the local ecosystems. The Slow Food motto is ‘Good, clean and fair” – a sentiment we couldn’t agree more with.

Our meat has been recognized for its exceptional quality and commitment to welfare by some fabulous chefs such as Rick Stein, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Clarissa Dickson-Wright, Michael Caines and many, many more!

Over the years we have been awarded a collection of notable awards for many of our cuts of meat. Three in particular, the Red Ruby Picanha, our Saddle back pork belly and our oaked smoked streaky bacon can be recognized with a top 50-food status, sporting three gold stars! One judge reported, ‘”It’s simply the best piece of pork belly I have ever eaten. That’s special.”

Chefs cooking for the world’s elite have found our bespoke butchery and packaging service invaluable.
