Job Summary: A family with two boys are looking for a high energy, organised nanny wit good judgement. You would work for both parents who live separately but very close by and have 4 to 8 days off per month. The salary is CHF80,000 – 90,000 Gross per annum dep on experience.


Accommodation: A one bedroom flat separate from the main house but on the property, in an annexe building.


General duties:

  • General wellbeing and safety of the children when on duty
  • Follow as closely as possible the methods by which the parents would like the children to be cared for, including discipline, general “parenting” philosophies, communication, etc
  • If parents are taking care of the kids, you would need to make sure everything is organized and ready for a smooth day
  • Send pictures and updates to parents regularly
  • Light cleaning if appropriate and if you have time (for example, loading the other dishes in the washer while putting the kids in after a meal, or arranging the couch cushions while cleaning up the children’s toys)
  • Cleaning and sterilizing, if appropriate, all child related items including toys, etc
  • Supervising baths for children
  • Keep children’s bedrooms and play areas organized and manage cleaning with the housekeepers
  • Dressing children appropriate to the child’s activities
  • Shopping for children’s requirements
  • Scheduling and coordinating children’s activities
  • Transporting children to school and other activities
  • Undertaking appropriate creative, educational and outdoor activities with the children
  • Planning and supervising rest, bed and nap times
  • Reading to and with the children
  • Helping with homework
  • Reinforcing appropriate discipline for the children
  • Implementing daily routines
  • Running errands
  • Making preparations for your days off with parents in mind – making sure supplies are stocked, meals are planned, for example
  • Liaising with teachers
  • Planning interesting and age-appropriate activities for the children – visit a new playground, baking, art project, outside treasure hunt, etc
  • Finding new activities and interesting places to go in Geneva with the children
  • Buying and wrapping gifts for child friends or relatives of the children
  • Keeping track of upcoming play dates, doctor’s appointments, days off school, etc
  • Keeping track and order/purchase or arranging for the order/purchase of supplies for children
  • Researching new products or gear when asked or a replacement is needed
  • On occasion, help in the care of visiting children usually only while traveling


Candidate requirements:

  • Travel required to accompany parents and children, for up to 3 weeks at a time (Europe, USA, other).
  • Permit B to work or ability to work in Switzerland is ideal
  • Dog friendly as one dog in the house
  • High school graduate
  • Further training in childcare and development such as a formal nanny training program, early childhood classes and/or in-service training
  • Proven childcare experience with references
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Driving license and safe driving record
  • European passport required with ability to travel (time compensation granted)
  • Excellent references required
  • English essential
