It takes a special kind of person to become a maternity nurse. This is an extremely personal and intimate time for clients, and therefore requires somebody who is professional, knowledgeable and friendly.

To become a maternity nurse you will need to display a certain amount of warmth and understanding towards both the client and their family during the childbearing period and be there to support them through the pregnancy, labour and some time after the birth.

If you wish to work for Eden Nannies & Maternity you will be interviewed to ascertain your suitability and experience for a particular role and references will be required. If you meet our criteria you will be registered with us and given assistance with obtaining an up to date Enhanced CRB check. All of our maternity staff must also have a valid First Aid certificate or be in the process of updating one.

Maternity Nurse Training:

Course Content:
Students cover all aspects of care of the newborn and post-natal mother, including in depth breastfeeding training. Additionally students are given advice on routines, working with parents, becoming self employed, CV’s, interviews and managing finances as well as help on how to get work in the Maternity Nurse sector.
