Beginning her career in midwifery in 2005, Joanne has amassed a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of family and newborn care. With extensive medical background from registering as a General Nurse in 1989 and then becoming a Health Visitor in 1997, Joanne has equipped herself to confidently give advice on breastfeeding, routine, and supporting parents both emotionally and physically.

Joanne has pursued her interests around working with newborns, choosing to study within the area of children’s sleep problems, and has attended a workshop for health professionals to expand her knowledge on this subject.  Joanne has worked consistently in the maternity unit of a major hospital, supporting families and babies and delivering a high level of care through childbirth and in the antenatal and postnatal period. Skilled in neonatal resuscitation, feeding issues, and implementation of care packages, Joanne is a wonderful communicator, listener, and has a flexible approach.   A strong advocate of mother’s own health and wellbeing, Joanne provides a reassuring and calm, capable presence, enabling mothers to get the rest they need, and to feel confident and comfortable caring for their babies.  Discreet, trustworthy and extremely professional at all times, Joanne aims to leave the family educated and the baby settled and content.
