A registered Nurse and Midwife in South Africa, Lorna’s career delivering care and supporting the wellbeing of babies and infants spans over 20 years. Starting out as an Au Pair, Lorna qualified as a General Nurse in 1989 where she worked in a variety of private hospital settings caring for babies and advising mother on antenatal care. Alongside her medical experience, Lorna spent a short time working within an education setting sharing her wealth of experience delivering post graduate courses in Occupational Health Nursing. Looking to utilise her range of skills, Lorna is now looking to support families as a Maternity Nurse in the UK caring for single babies and twins.
Calm under pressure, Lorna establishes trust quickly and can identify and eliminate issues as soon as they arise. Adding enormous value in her roles, Lorna loves to impart her knowledge and build parents confidence to care for their newborn. Utilising her wealth of knowledge gained from working as a Nurse and Midwife, Lorna can expertly support with breastfeeding, along with offering advice and guidance on well being for both mother and baby. Family focussed in her approach, Lorna offers bespoke care to clients and can expertly adapt her style to fit with the family dynamic.
