Professional Italian Nanny | 12 Years’ Experience | Early Years Development & Confident Family Cook
Location: North London
Reference: OSL-23457
Summary
Experienced professional Nanny with 12 years’ childcare experience, offering warm, engaging care, strong early-years expertise and a proactive approach to supporting busy families.
Professional Overview
With 12 years’ professional nannying experience across private households in London, this highly experienced Nanny has cared for children from newborn through to 10 years old, with particular strength in babies, toddlers and younger children. She has extensive experience managing the routines of busy families with up to three children, providing confident sole-charge and shared care while supporting each child’s individual development. Her responsibilities have encompassed everything from bottle feeding, weaning, sleep routines and potty training to school runs, homework, extracurricular activities and preparing fresh, nutritious meals. Having worked with families over several years, she understands the importance of consistency, trust and adapting her approach as children grow.
She is particularly passionate about making childhood fun, stimulating and full of experiences. Rather than relying on screens, she enjoys planning busy, varied days incorporating music classes, gymnastics, swimming, museums, libraries, creative activities and outdoor adventures. She is familiar with many of London’s family-friendly attractions and regularly incorporates cultural and educational outings into her routines, from the Natural History Museum and Young V&A to concerts, woodland walks and trips to the zoo. Her approach combines learning through play with encouraging independence, confidence and social development, ensuring children feel safe, happy and engaged throughout the day.
Added-Value Differentiators
One of her greatest strengths is her enthusiasm for creating meaningful experiences for children. She genuinely enjoys getting down on the floor, joining in with imaginative games and making everyday activities exciting. She is attentive to developmental milestones and enjoys finding creative ways to support progress, whether encouraging a toddler’s first steps through movement-based activities, developing speech through music and conversation or helping older children build confidence with reading, writing and homework. For families, this means having a Nanny who actively contributes to their children’s development rather than simply supervising their day.
She is also an enthusiastic and capable cook, with a particular love of preparing fresh Italian food from scratch. Confident making everything from homemade pasta, lasagne and pizza to bread, fish dishes, soups and nutritious family favourites, she enjoys introducing children to different foods and involving them in cooking and baking. She has experience preparing meals for children with kosher dietary requirements and is happy to cook for the wider family when her childcare responsibilities allow. This practical flexibility extends to children’s laundry, bedrooms, play areas and keeping the kitchen organised, helping busy parents maintain a smooth-running home.
Her experience working with parents who work from home is another valuable advantage. She understands the importance of giving parents uninterrupted working time and confidently organises full days of activities and outings, managing meals, naps and routines independently while maintaining clear communication. She is equally comfortable collaborating with parents and other household staff, adapting naturally to each family’s preferences.
Soft Skills & Temperament
Bubbly, smiley and full of positive energy, she has a naturally warm and playful personality that comes through in her approach to childcare. She genuinely loves spending time with children and makes a conscious effort to ensure they feel safe, comfortable and happy in her care. She enjoys being actively involved in their world, whether sitting on the floor playing games, exploring somewhere new or turning an ordinary afternoon into something memorable. Her enthusiasm is balanced by a gentle, empathetic approach to discipline, with clear boundaries, patience and respect forming the foundation of her relationships with children.
She is also friendly, honest and personable, with a strong appreciation for family life. As a mother herself, she understands the importance of finding someone parents can trust with their children and values open communication and a positive working relationship. She is naturally active and enjoys keeping busy, spending time with her family, going to the gym, walking and reading. She is thoughtful about finding the right long-term position and is particularly interested in building a genuine connection with a family where she can make a lasting contribution.
What the Candidate Is Seeking
She is seeking a long-term, live-out Nanny position with one private family in North London, ideally around Muswell Hill, Highgate, Tufnell Park, Kentish Town, Finchley or Holloway, with locations along the Northern Line particularly appealing. She is looking for approximately 24 to 40 hours per week, ideally across three or four days, although she can consider five days depending on the working pattern. She is happy to start early but requires a finish by approximately 5pm to 5.30pm to accommodate her own family commitments.
She particularly enjoys caring for children from around 11 months onwards and is confident managing up to three children, with flexibility to consider larger families. She is comfortable with sole or shared charge, parents working from home, other household staff and occasional babysitting or proxy parenting with advance notice. She prefers a friendly, informal family environment and is also happy to consider occasional weekend work and shorter periods of family travel when arranged in advance.
