Professional Live-in Nanny | 5 Years’ Childcare Experience | Babies, Young Children & Proxy Parenting

Location: London and Kent

Reference: OSL-87963

Summary

Warm and professional Nanny with five years’ childcare experience, seeking a long-term live-in role where she can provide nurturing care, confident proxy parenting and flexible family support.

Professional Overview

This dedicated Nanny has five years’ professional childcare experience, with a particularly strong background caring for babies, toddlers and young children within private households. CACHE Level 3 qualified in Childcare and Education, she has progressed from nursery experience into substantial live-in nanny positions, developing excellent practical knowledge of children’s routines, developmental milestones and the day-to-day demands of busy family life.

She is currently supporting a family with three young children and has demonstrated considerable commitment by relocating internationally with them from London to Germany, providing continuity and stability for the children throughout the transition. Her experience encompasses sole and shared care, proxy parenting, 24/7 responsibility, school and nursery runs, weaning, potty training, homework, classes, playdates, medical appointments and developmental activities. She is particularly comfortable with multiple children and enjoys the variety and energy of a busy family household.

Added-Value Differentiators

A real strength is the breadth of support she can offer beyond traditional nannying. She is a confident family cook who genuinely enjoys preparing meals and is comfortable cooking for both children and adults, with dishes ranging from curries, soups and chilli to pasta, gnocchi, noodles and family favourites. She has experience managing meal planning, grocery shopping and keeping kitchens well stocked, alongside knowledge of catering around egg, nut and white fish allergies.

She is equally happy to be hands-on around the home and describes herself as someone who likes to help with a bit of everything. Her current position has developed into a combined Nanny/Housekeeper role while the children are at school, giving her practical experience of laundry, bed linen, household organisation and general housekeeping. While her preference is for a childcare-led position rather than a deep-cleaning role, this flexibility makes her particularly valuable to families looking for a Nanny who naturally notices where additional support is needed.

Her proxy-parenting experience is another significant asset. In previous and current roles she has confidently taken full responsibility when parents travel, including full weekends, several consecutive days and occasional 24/7 care. She genuinely enjoys this responsibility and is comfortable making day-to-day decisions independently while respecting the parents’ preferred routines and approach. She has also travelled internationally with employers and can support family trips when required.

Soft Skills & Temperament

Naturally happy, positive and relaxed, she has a warm personality and an easy sense of humour. She is very family-orientated and places considerable importance on developing a trusting, respectful relationship with both children and parents. She speaks extremely positively about her current employers and clearly values mutual respect, good communication and feeling like a trusted part of family life.

Her childcare style is affectionate, playful and encouraging. She likes giving children choices and opportunities to develop independence rather than doing everything for them, while placing importance on good manners and respectful behaviour. She enjoys getting involved in arts and crafts, imaginative play, outdoor adventures, swimming, museums and classes, and takes pleasure in finding activities that suit each child’s personality and stage of development.

She is also comfortable asking questions when needed rather than making assumptions, particularly when joining a new household. This allows her to understand how parents prefer things to be done and adapt accordingly. Once established, she is confident taking initiative and responsibility, giving parents the reassurance of knowing their children are in capable and trusted hands.

What the Candidate Is Seeking

She is seeking a full-time, long-term live-in Nanny position from January 2027, ideally caring for babies and younger children up to around four years old. She particularly enjoys working with siblings and is comfortable caring for multiple children, with experience supporting families of up to three children and openness to caring for up to four. Her preference is for an informal, friendly private household where there is mutual respect, good communication and a positive relationship between the family and Nanny.

She is primarily considering London, particularly North London, as well as Kent. She would ideally like her own bedroom and bathroom, although she can consider a shared bathroom for the right family. She is open to approximately 40 to 60 hours per week and occasional weekend support, and is comfortable with sole charge, shared care, parents working from home, proxy parenting and working alongside other household staff. She is also happy to travel with a family for extended periods, provided there is an appropriate balance of working and personal time while away.
