Vaccinate Against Covid-19

None of us should be in any doubt: Covid-19 vaccines save lives.

Consider some recent UK statistics: in a study tracking more than 200,000 people, nearly every single participant had developed antibodies against the virus within two weeks of their second dose.

After initial worries that the current vaccines may be less effective against the Delta variant, analyses suggest that both the AstraZeneca and the Pfizer-BioNTech jabs reduce hospitalisation rates by 92-96% and many health practitioners have stated that the risks of severe side effects from a vaccine are tiny in comparison to the risk of the getting the disease itself.

Despite this, a sizeable number of people (up to 20% of the UK) are still reluctant to be vaccinated and are unsure of the truth about its safety and efficacy.

Contrary to popular belief, there is no reliable threshold at which herd immunity can be reached and there are many huge benefits for protecting yourself and others against the virus:

  • Covid-19 vaccines had a huge global effort behind them
  • Covid-19 vaccines have met the strictest safety standards
  • There are no human or animal products or egg in the Covid-19 vaccine ingredient lists
  • There is no evidence that Covid-19 vaccines affect fertility
  • Vaccines save lives
  • Vaccines protect your whole community

Many people are still unsure or undecided whether to have the vaccine and they still need reassurance from reliable sources in order to complete their decision making process. In order to get the best possible advice and information and to arm yourself with the correct knowledge about the vaccines take a look at the following websites:

  • The British Red Cross
  • The NHS
  • The World Health Organisation

Knowing how much we would all like to try and return to a more normal way of life, the best way to achieve this is to protect yourself, your family and the wider community by having the vaccine.

Eden are seeing a trend and it has become the norm that clients specifically ask for candidates who have been vaccinated. This way everyone feels better protected and safe and of course potentially candidates can also ask that they are only put forward for jobs where the employers have been vaccinated too.

Currently 3 in 5 UK adults have received 2 doses of the vaccine which is over 60% of the UK adult population and 82.5% have received 1 dose which means every day the situation gets better in dealing with this virus.

In order to fully get back to work, school, university, the gym, concerts, theatre & travelling, being double vaccinated is definitely the way forward!
